The Barcelona Chair was originally designed by Mies van der Rohe in collaboration with the designer Lilly Reich in 1929 for the German pavilion exhibition at the International Exhibition in Barcelona.

Since its introduction in 1929, the Barcelona Chair has been continuously produced by Knoll International, a renowned manufacturer of designer furniture. Knoll is committed to maintaining the original specifications and high quality of the chair.

Among its famous owners were personalities such as Coco Chanel.
The Barcelona Chair has been honored with various design prizes and awards, including the prize of the German Werkbund Exhibition in 1929.

It is also part of the permanent collections of many design museums worldwide.
